Steps to Install and Use Plex on PS5
Plex is a media service wherein one place users get to all the media such as podcasts, web shows, news, games, and music. A user can enjoy it all in a single place. Plex is commonly known as the Plex Media Server and was developed by Plex Inc. It supports PCs, mobile phones, and tablets.
To use Plex on your PS5, follow these easy steps to set up and start streaming your media.
Create a Plex Account
- Before using Plex, you need a Plex account. Visit the Plex website and sign up. If you don’t have a Plex server already, you can install Plex Media Server on a computer or a compatible NAS device to host your media files.
Download the Plex App on PS5
- Turn on your PS5 and navigate to the PlayStation Store.
- In the search bar, type “Plex” and select the Plex app from the search results.
- Click Download to install the app on your PS5.
Open the Plex App
- Once the app is installed, go to the Media section or the Game Library and find the Plex app.
- Select it to open the app on your PS5.
Sign In to Plex
- When you open the Plex app, you’ll be prompted to sign in with the Plex account you created earlier. If you’ve set up a Plex Media Server on your computer or NAS device, the app should automatically detect it if both your PS5 and server are on the same network.
